The best DIY Gel for curly hair | El mejor gel casero para tus rizos

When summer is in full effect, my hair tends to have a crazy shrinkage and when the humidity hits its high point, my curls get really frizzy and dry. For years I have been using the best diy gel for curly hair and it works wonders because it gives my hair definition and the weight it needs to fight shrinkage.

This Gel is pretty simple and you only need a few ingredients:
2 cups of water
1/3 cup of flax seed
1/2 teaspoon of 100% honey
1/2 teaspoon of shea butter
a few drops of essential oil, I will be using my homemade rose oil (recipe HERE)

• Put the water and the flaxseed into medium heat, this process has to be very, very fast; as soon as the mixture starts to boil remove it from the stove and strain it to remove the seed from the gel. If you let the gel boil longer that it should, you won’t be able to strain it, if this is your first time doing this, you may have to try it a few times until you get it right.
• Add the honey and shea butter, stir until dissolved.
• Add your essential oil or rose oil.
• Let it sit until cooled down.

Apply this gel on dripping wet hair, I like to apply leave-in conditioner first to soften my hair and then apply this amazing gel. I like to air dry my hair when I am using gels.
When your hair is completely dry you may notice some crunchiness, but don’t worry that will go away by softly crunching your hair with your hands. In my case I like to use this gel when I know I wont be leaving the house that day, because the next day my curls are bouncy, soft, and super shiny. You will have to play around with this gel until you find what works for you.

At night put your hair up into a pineapple or use a satin bonnet cap.
If you have left overs, store it in the fridge, but not for more than a few days to have a fresh product.
