When I was living in Dominican Republic I used to always love watching the seasons change in other parts of the world – If you didn’t know, in Dominican Republic it’s summer all year round- the beautiful colors and people wearing different outfits was just fascinating to me. When I got to the US, I was completely lost. I was the one girl that had to rush into a store to buy a sweater because I couldn’t handle the cold or better said, I didn’t quite understand the concept and reality of going from 80 degrees at 2PM and 50 at 8Pm.

Cuando vivía en la República Dominicana solía ver en las revistas y el televisor como las chicas cambiaban sus outfits por temporada y eso me encantaba sobre todo por los hermosos colores, texturas y lo diferente que era el guardarropa según la época del año -Si no lo sabes en RD es el verano eterno- . Cuando llegué a los EE.UU. sin embargo me encontré totalmente perdida en cuanto a llevar el atuendo adecuado según las estaciones y los cambios climáticos (una cosa es verlo y otra vivirlo). Yo era esa chica a la cual el clima le arruinaba la salida y tenia que correr a comprar un suéter (si tenia dinero) o irme a casa. Me tomo mucho tiempo el entender el concepto y la realidad de que en un mismo día en cuestión de horas el clima podia cambiar de 80 grados a 50.
Aprendí la lección, y ahora sin importar el calor que haga siempre ando con un abrigo, chaqueta o suéter. También he aprendido cómo hacer la transición de mi guardarropa de una estación a otra sin quedar en la quiebra. Sigo las últimas tendencias, pero la adecuo a mi estilo propio, mis gustos y sobre todo mi presupuesto. Con la primavera a la vuelta de la esquina me fui a Burlington a comprar algunas piezas para mezclar y combinar con otras que ya tengo en casa, y que pueda fácilmente usar en el verano también sin añadir mas a mi presupuesto.
