School is back in session-Dress for success / Regreso a Clases con estilo y confianza

Dress for success is one of the biggest lessons I have ever had, a mentor once told me “dress for the job you want, not the one you have” and I tried to do just that at all the phases of my life, not only with my outfit, but with my mind and thoughts “dress and think for and about the job I want to have”. Now in my role as a mother I try to pass that to my daughters, specially if they are going to school.

When you send your child with the appropriate outfit, they feel better, they socialize better and do better at school. My daughters still wear uniform to school, which in my opinion all schools should adapt to this dress code, because all the kids feel equal and there is no inappropriate clothing. Since my daughters can only wear street clothes on free dress day -which are the most fun days for them- they show their personality in their shoes, which is also very important, because it gives them that sense of originality and “this is what I like” For Liah, it has to be pink, pink, more pink and glitter, she loves converse and when she saw these pink and glitter Converse on Zappos.com she was hysterical. ps. they are even prettier in person.

For those very special free dress days, she picked one of my favorite brands of all time United Color Of Benetton, this shirt screams Liah all over, it’s super cute, soft 100 % cotton fabrication, a trendy print on the front, cuffed cap sleeves, straight hem, long dropped tail perfect to wear with leggings. And to finish her first free dress day, which actually was picture day #savvymon  this beautiful Lucky Brand Sofia Mini, super comfy with dark wash fabrication with faded accents, belt loop waist, zipper fly and button, signature five-pocket construction, and cute, colorful friendship bracelet attached at belt loops.

The Hair is clean and neat! I braid it at night and rebraid it in the morning sometimes or just pull it back in a ponytail away from her face, so she can concentrate on what’s really important, “learning”. After school and on the weekend she can wear her hair as big as she wants.

Vestirse para el éxito es una de las mayores lecciones que he tenido, un profesor en la universidad una vez me dijo” vistete para el trabajo que quieres tener y no para el que tienes” y he tratado de hacerlo en todas las etapas de mi vida, no solo con lo que llevo puesto, pero también vistiendo mi mente de lo que quiero ser con pensamientos positivos y visualizando mis metas. Ahora, en mi papel de madre, trato de transmitir eso a mis hijas, especialmente cuando se trata de ir a aprender.

Al enviar a nuestros hijos con el atuendo apropiado, ellos se sienten mejor, socializan mejor y les va mejor en la escuela. Mis hijas usan uniformes, lo cual en mi opinión es lo ideal para ir a la escuela y que los niños esten mas enfocados y vestidos todos bajo el mismo código. Ya que mis hijas sólo pueden llevar ropa de calle en el día libre o día de colores como le dicen en mi país (free dress) su personalidad la demuestran con su calzado, lo cual creo que también es bien importante ya que les da un sentido de originalidad que para Liah -claro esta- tiene que ser color rosa y si es con brillo, mejor, le encantan los tenis Converse y cuando vio estos en Zappos.com casi le da el mimisqui y esta encantada, sobre todo porque todas los quieren en el cole.

Para aquellos días super especiales de free dress, Liah eligio una blusa de una de mis marcas favoritas United Color Of Benetton, es super linda, hecha con 100% algodón, con una impresión de moda en la parte delantera, mangas en casquillo, y parte trasera mas larga perfecto para usar con leggings. Y para terminar su primer día de vestuario libre que en realidad fue el día de la foto escolar #melacomí esta hermosa mini de Lucky Brand Sofia, súper cómoda con fabricación de lavado oscuro con acentos desteñidos, cierre con cremallera y botón,  y trae una linda pulsera de la amistad.

El pelo limpio y ordenado! Yo le hago trenzas por la noche y se las rehago en las mañanas a veces o simplemente se las destrenzo y le hago una cola, sin cabello cayendo en su carita para que se pueda concentrar, después de la escuela y los fines de semana puede llevar el cabello tan grande como ella quiera.
