My first invisalign appointment |Mi primera cita de Invisalign

Finally my first Invisalign appointment took place and I must say that it was quite an experience for so many reasons, both for me and Liah. The first step was to determine whether or not Invisalign treatment fit our needs. For the best treatment results, choosing an experienced doctor can make all the difference. Each doctor may vary when it comes to pricing, patient interaction, and treatment recommendations. This part is really important, so just don’t go with the first option, do your research and take your time before committing with one doctor. 

After we had all the details of our treatment, our impression appointment took place. I am all about technology and I considered myself a tech know it all, but let me tell you that this whole Invisalign technology really blew my mind away. Liah and I got to the doctor’s office together with no idea of what to expect and super excited. We sat down and the impression process began.We were shown a full 3D representation of how our teeth are, how they will move during treatment, and how they will look after. In case you are wondering how this happened, here are the details:

Liah; she will use an expander for a few weeks to make enough space for her teeth. The process took place in a couple of appointments to take the impressions and custom fit an expander for her. I have to move the expander everyday and take her to the Dentist every 2 weeks to see the process. Her teeth are moving really fast, so she should be ready for the treatment really soon.

Me; this is the ugly part that I didn’t wanna to hear, after my impression was taken and I was super excited to see my results in 3D, the Orthodontist determined that I had to removed my 3 wisdom teeth. This scared me a little bit, but I know it’s for the best so I have to make an appointment to have them removed when my princess gets on vacation.

Finalmente mi primera cita Invisalign tuvo lugar y tengo que decir que fue una experiencia bastante interesante tanto para mi como Liah. El primer paso fue determinar si Invisalign era adecuado para nuestras necesidades. Fue fácil, sólo tomó unos minutos y fue gratis – muchos dentistas ofrecen consultas gratuitas de ortodoncista (Ubicar los médicos de Invisalign en tu zona AQUÍ)

Para obtener los mejores resultados del tratamiento, la elección de un médico experimentado puede hacer la gran diferencia. Cada médico puede variar cuando se trata de precios, interacción con el paciente, y las recomendaciones de tratamiento. Esta parte es muy importante, así que busca varias opiniones antes de comprometerte con un médico.

Después de que teníamos todos los detalles de nuestro tratamiento, pasamos a la cita en donde toman las impresiones de los dientes. Y les cuento que la tecnología de Invisalign realmente me dejó impresionada. Liah y yo llegamos a la oficina del médico, sin ninguna idea de lo que pasaría y super  emocionadas. Nos sentamos y el proceso de la toma impresión comenzó. Una representación 3D completa de cómo nuestros dientes están, cómo se moverán durante el tratamiento, y cómo van a quedar. Acá les dejo algunos detalles de esa cita tanto para Liah como para mi:

Liah; ella va a utilizar un expansor durante unas semanas para hacer suficiente espacio para los dientes que están fuera de lugar. El proceso se llevó a cabo en un par de citas para tomar las impresiones y colocarle el expansor. Tengo que mover el expansor todos los días y llevarla al dentista cada 2 semanas para chequear su proceso, ya que al ser tan joven sus dientes se mueven muy rápido.

Yo; esta es la parte fea que yo no quería escuchar, después de que mi impresión fue tomada estaba súper emocionada de ver mis resultados en 3D (ver foto arriba), el ortodoncista determino que tengo que remover mis 3 cordales. Esto me asustó un poco, pero sé que es lo mejor para el mejor resultado. Ya tengo la cita para extraerlas luego que las niñas esten de vacaciones.
