I got my first car when I was 21, it was a dream come true to me. Not only was it my first car, which is already a big deal, but it was fully paid with my hard work. Back then and even till a few years back I didn’t quite understand how important it is to choose the right car and not going with the flow of others peoples needs. Women have, need, and should know about cars, but don’t get overwhelmed, this Curly Girl Guide To Choosing The Perfect Car is all you need if you are looking for your first car or upgrade.
1.- How the car will be used. One of the most common mistakes when we are buying a new car is going with flow of others people needs. It is important to know how and what the car will be used for. Do you have a long commute? Are you single? Do you have a big family? Are a few of the questions that you should ask yourself before heading to the market for a new car. In my case, after driving around with the Kia Sorento, that I totally loved, I realized that this car was to big for me and my needs, I loved the car’s new feature, how easy to drive and safe it is, but it’s not the car for me. If I would’ve met this car when my daughters were smaller with all the hassles I went through to get in and out of the car and the lack of space, I wouldn’t have thought about buying this car twice. Let’s keep fishing.
2.- How is your budget? Some options you have available in the market is either buy or lease a car. For me, this is pretty clear, I am buying, because if you lease a car and at the end of the contract, you don’t have the money to actually own the car, you can pretty much lose all your money. But this option can give you time if you don’t have the money to buy it now, my only recommendation would be, that plan ahead, get organized and save to be able to afford the car at the end of the lease.
3.- Check the competition. I didn’t know how important it was to check the cons
umer report but it is very important to know the most popular choices and the best deals.. For example, I want to buy a Kia Sportage and this brand received a high road test score and a high predicted reliability rating. This gives me the confidence that I will get the most out of money. 5.- Think of Uncle Sam. Understand that taxes and insurance is something to consider. Insurance and Taxes may vary by country and by brand. Knowing this information is very important and valuable to make some savings while buying a car.
