A beautiful Giving!! I heard somewhere that life is a series of baby steps along the way and if you add up these tiny little steps, you can achieve your goal. My goal was sharing my journey and having a community in which we share the same passion and struggles. Sometimes those baby steps towards your goal shows you that along the way, it is not about the destination itself, it’s more about the journey.

In my steps towards my goal, my journey has become more beautiful and powerful that I could never imagine. It has taken me to places and at this moment has brought me back to my roots and my origin. When World vision invited me to Dominican Republic I was in tears, because like me as a child as well as many other children around the world today, “World Vision” has given me hope.

In this trip I discovered the beautiful giving of helping others. I met so many people that are willing to sacrifice their time with their family, money, and comfort just for the joy of seeing a kid smile. I experienced it myself when I was a kid, I experienced this week listening to the stories; when you donate to world vision by sponsoring a child, you are changing a life forever, a whole community, a country, and the future.

In this trip I discovered the beautiful giving of gratitud. It is hard to know sometimes if your help is actually making any difference, right? well, I guaranty that when you sponsor a child, you are making a huge difference. But that goes way beyond the present, after meeting many young children and adults that were sponsored as a kid, I was amazed that they are so grateful that they now as young adults are helping others, sharing their stories, volunteering their time, their talent, and their voice.

In this trip, I discovered the beautiful giving of joy and kindness. When you sponsor a child, you can actually build a relationship and make a huge difference in the kids life. One of the missionary on the trip from matthewpaulturner.com, sponsored a child on his first trip to Dominican Republic 6 years ago and got the blessing to reconnect with his sponsor kid – I can’t even write this, the tears are blocking my eyes- and chicas that was the most kind and joyful moment I have ever experienced in my life. It was amazing for me to see how two people can love each other so much, without even really knowing each other, how a man can be so generous, so kind, so noble, so vulnerable. The kid was in tears of joy to meet his padrino ( godfather in spanish and what the kids there call their sponsor) the one that writes him almost every month, the same one that he has a photo of in his mirror as a reminder that even though times can be tough, someone in a place far far a way lives a man (a whole family) that supports him and gives him hope to believe that anything can be possible.

As I write this post, the tears are coming out of my eyes like waterfalls, but they are tears of joy and hope. I know I can’t do something for everybody and before this trip that gave me frustration, but now I feel happy and blessed to help at least one child. Bella bondad!! Escuche una ves alguien decir que la vida esta compuesta por una serie de pequeños pasos y que estos se van juntando hasta lograr un objetivo. Definitivamente que he dado muchos pequeños pasos para llegar al lugar que estoy ahora y lograr mi objetivo que era solo el compartir mi experiencia y tener una comunidad que compartiéramos el mismo objetivo de amarnos como somos. Muchas veces esos pequeños pasos nos demuestran que no se trata solo del objetivo sino del trayecto en si.

En esos pasos hacia mi objetivo, el trayecto se ha vuelto un cumulo de experiencias y de oportunidades jamas pensadas y me ha llevado a mis raíces y a mis orígenes. Cuando Vision Mundial me invito a la República Dominicana las lagrimas casi no me dejaban ver el computador, porque a igual que a mi cuando era pequeña Vision Mundial guío los pasos de muchos niños en Republica Dominicana y les da esperanza y una mano de apoyo no solo económico sino una mano amiga.

En este viaje, descubrí el hermoso don de ayudar a los demás. Conocí a muchas personas que están dispuestas a sacrificar el tiempo con su familia, el dinero y el confort de sus hogares sólo por el placer de ver a un niño sonreír. Lo experimenté yo misma cuando era niña y lo experimente esta semana al escuchar las historias de niños, familias y comunidades completas que vision mundial ayuda a travez de tus donaciones.

En este viaje descubrí la hermosa entrega de gratitud. Es difícil ver realmente si tu ayuda o donacion a cualquier entidad esta de verdad haciendo una diferencia, verdad? Pues yo te garantizó que cuando patrocinas un niño con Vision Mundial haces una diferencia no solo en ese niño, sino en su familia completa. Patrocinar un niño va mucho mas alla de un ahora, un presente, marcas su vida para siempre. Esta semana conocí jóvenes que fueron patrocinados cuando eran niños y hoy por su inmensa gratitud, ayudan a otros con su talento, su voz, su tiempo y sus historias.

En este viaje, descubrí el hermoso don de la alegría y la bondad.  Cuando patrocinas un niño, estas patrocinado alegria y bondad, estas creando una relación y unos lazos que marcan su vida. En este viaje misionero iva con nosotros el escritor del blog matthewpaulturner.com un bloguero que patrocino su primer niño hace 6 año atrás y esta ves tuvo la oportunidad de verlo – las lagrimas nublan mis ojos solo de recordar- y les juro que fue el momento mas bello que he experimentado en mi vida. Fue sorprendente para mí ver cómo dos personas pueden amarse tanto, sin en realidad conocerce, como un hombre puede ser tan vulnerable, tan humano, tan noble. El niño bañado en lágrimas de alegría de reencontrarse con su padrino (como les llaman los niños allá a sus patrocinadores), el que lo escribe casi todos los meses, el mismo de la foto que tanto atesora y ve todos los días pegada al espejo para recordarle que alguien le importa su bienestar y que lo apoya para lograr un futuro mejor.

Al momento de escribir este articulo, las lágrimas bañan mis ojos, pero son lagrimas de alegría y de esperanza. Este viaje me quito un poco la frustración que antes me daba el sentimiento de que era poco lo que podia hacer por ayudar. Ahora me siento feliz y bendecida de poder ayudar aunque sea a un solo niño, con la certeza de que esa ayuda afecta a toda una familia, a toda una comunidad, a todo un pueblo y a nuestro futuro.
