The best way to save on food is including to your diet seasonal foods, not only will you save money but they are more delicious and nutritious. Pumpkins are one of those versatile fall foods that you can eat roasted, boiled, in soups, salads and hair masks.
Pumpkin are delicious and nutritious, and they have very high amount of beta-carotene and alpha-carotene,  vitamin C, and complex B, vitamin A, potassium, and dietary fiber.
As a hair mask, pumpkin does us good for the scalp because of the vitamin A. It works similar to avocados and bananas (rich in potassium ) a nutrient that helps promote hair growth.  Pumpkin is a good moisturizer for dry or damaged hair

Now you know the reasons to love pumpkin, try these two recipes:


Ingredients
5 cups 1/2 to 1 inch peeled and seeded sugar pumpkin or butternut squash
1/4 cup French green lentils (boiled until tender but firm them drain)
Olive oil
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon hot smoked Spanish paprika
Sea salt
4 cups spring mix (greens)
1 cup feta cheese
1/4 cup thinly sliced mint leaves
1 tablespoon red wine vinegar

Preheat oven to 375°F. Place pumpkin in a large bowl and add oil, cumin, paprika, and sea salt. Place pumpkin in single layer on baking sheet, roast for 20 minutes. Turn pumpkin over. Roast until tender, or 10 to 15 minutes.
In a salad bowl, combine pumpkin, lentils, spring mix, feta cheese, mint, vinegar, and olive oil. Season with salt and pepper. Serve and decorate.


Pumpkin Hair mask.
1 tablespoon coconut oil
2 cups pumpkin (chopped and cooked)
1 cup yogurt
1 tablespoon honey

Blend the pumpkin and yogurt, then add the rest of the ingredients in a smooth consistency. Apply the mix as a pre-poo, leave it on your hair for 30m. Wash and style your hair as usual.

La mejor manera de ahorrar a la hora de la comida, es incluir productos de estación, esto te permite tener productos mas deliciosos incluidos en tu dieta a la ves que ahorras. Las calabazas (Auyamas en RD)son uno de los alimentos mas versátiles de la estación, lo puedes comer asadas, cocidas, en sopas, ensaladas y mascarillas para el cabello.
La calabaza es deliciosa y nutritiva, tienen muy alta cantidades de beta-caroteno y alfa-caroteno, vitamina C, complejo B, vitamina A, potasio y fibra.
Como mascarilla para el cabello, la calabaza es buena para el cuero cabelludo debido a la vitamina A. Esta funciona similar a los aguacates y los plátanos (ricos en potasio), un nutriente que ayuda a promover el crecimiento del cabello. La calabaza es una crema hidratante para el cabello seco o dañado.
Ya sabes las razones para amar la calabaza, ahora prueba estas dos recetas que prepare:

Ensalada de calabaza 
Ingredientes:
5 tazas de 1/2 a 1 pulgada de calabaza peladas y sin semillas
1/4 taza de lentejas  (hervidas hasta que estén tiernas pero firmes, escurrir)
aceite de oliva
1 cucharadita de comino molido
1 cucharadita de paprika
Sal
4 tazas de lechuga mixta
1 taza de queso feta
1/4 taza de menta picadas bien finas
1 cucharada de vinagre de vino tinto

Precalienta el horno a 375 ° F. Coloca la calabaza en un tazón grande y agrega el aceite, el comino, la paprika y la sal. Coloca la calabaza en una sola capa sobre una bandeja para hornear, asar por 20 minutos. Voltea la calabaza y hornea hasta que estén tiernas, de 10 a 15 minutos.
En una ensaladera combina la calabaza, lentejas, lechuga, queso feta, menta, vinagre y aceite de oliva. Sazona con sal y pimienta. Servir y decorar.

Mascarilla de calabaza para el cabello
1 cucharada de aceite de coco
2 tazas de calabaza (picada y cocida)
1 taza de yogur
1 cucharada de miel

En un batidor(licuadora) pon la calabaza y el yogur, hasta convertirlo en una pasta, luego añade el resto de los ingredientes para una consistencia suave. Aplica la mezcla como un pre-poo, déjalo en el cabello durante 30 m. Lava y peina como de costumbre.
